I sit at the weird generational edge of what might be considered "elder emo"--like, I went to Warped Tour, but only once, and it was in 2013. Also my dad was there. At the same time, I was there, Gandalf, at least partially; I actually remember the days when Pete Wentz wore eyeliner, so I don't like to lump myself in with the more youthful Gen Z/Gen Alpha emo crowd either.All of that's ultimately pointless navel-gazing. The point is I like a bunch of bands that either haven't released music in over a decade or went on extended hiatuses and are now back, and I based my own model of masculinity on skinny jeans, black nail polish, and eyeliner.
